I can remember when we were kids you was always near me,

I use to want to hear all your crazy stories and wild ideas,

We were like family we were always by each other house,

It was simple back then because we were friends.

Then middle school came and we ran our school,

we were known as the 2 live crew,,lol we acted some fools,

Different friends came and went hurts we felt but we made it through,

Things were so simple back then cause we remained friends,

Oh who can forget highschool I know I can’t the clothes and shoes,

the things our mothers put us through sports and band we did it all,

We were told we couldn’t do everything together but we showed them all,

Things stopped being so simple but we were still friends.

College crushes came and broke our hearts but we had each other,

Thats all that matters right?

Until one night your comforting touch turned into something more,

I didn’t know what to do I never felt this before your my friend I said,

As you grab my face and kiss my lips tenderly I yell wait,

but then you grab my hand,

Confessing that you no longer wanted simple you don’t want to be my friend.

Still dazed and confused my mind in a whirlwind feeling a love I never knew,

From an unexpected source which is you I cant breathe I need to ponder this,

I ran to mother and told her how I felt she immediately got angered and yelled Noo

Her eyes are filled with tears screaming I don’t want this for you y’all are like family,

Now I’m even more confused cause I love  the tenderness but my moms in pain

My friend says,”I want more from you” and my heart feels the same,

Now I gotta unscramble the shambles and confusion of my world,

Does it really matter that were like family,

Or is it because my friends a  girl?
